A Final Farewell
Well, this will be my final post while here in England, as I leave day after tomorrow. I've been taking a couple 16 second, soundless videos during my stay here with my digital camera, so I thought it would be fun to share them as a final post.
It's been great hearing from everyone through the blog, and I hope it was as fun to read these as it was to write them! It's going to be so wonderful to see everyone in person again and catch up on your lives!
Happy Holidays and much love
Jess

Good Morning Jessica!!
I can't seem to get the video to play, but the good news is you can show me in person next week when you're home!
I know you have thoroughly enjoyed your time there and will carry the memories and experiences with you forever. I'm guessing you're a little sad to leave but excited to be coming home. Kari and I have both missed you a lot and are looking forward to seeing you in person, hearing more about your time there, and just hanging out with you again!
We'll see you next week!
Love,
Uncle Dave
Good evening, Jessica,
Just got in from a three hour Messiah rehearsal with orchestra for performance tomorrow night.
I looked at your video and enjoyed
it - look forward to seeing it along with your commentary when you are home and I am there also.
Your experiences have been phenominal and I have really, really enjoyed reading every word you have written.
Know you will be happy to be at home again - even though you might
miss England and Paris just a LITTLE BIT!
See you the 20th or 21st. I have
missed you so much just knowing you were overseas. See you soon.
Love you,
xoxo

Hi Again - I got the video to work! That's a great montage of things you saw and did while there, I really liked it!
See you next week!
Love,
Uncle Dave
Jess --
I love the video! What a great choice of music to accompany your moving memories.
From my viewpoint, your study abroad delivered! I have seen you grow these past months through your calls, emails and especially this blog.
Do you remember your first week? A bit disoriented, jet lagged and maybe some disappointment in the accomidations? Not to mention "Oxford center of learning" was actually "Oxford, set for Harry Potter" as evidenced by the mobs of people and bumper-to-bumper tour buses outside your door. Not what you expected at all.
However, two weeks later, blog's up, coffee houses identified, Indian food AVAILABLE, room mate is cool (the lovely Julianna!) and of course, getting along brilliantly with your new professor and the famed 'Oxford tutorial'. In short, Jessica conquered all.
But you were just getting started.
You set week nights = checking out the local scene; daylight hours = the special spots you found that fed your soul while studying and writing; and the late evenings = Skyping the fam. You then added traveling on the weekends -- London, Bath, Blenheim ... even Paris!
My daughter created a whole new life for herself in an entirely new place in less than a month. Did you note that in your diary?
I am so proud of you.
Can't wait for our Christmas together!
Love,
Dad
